Junior Achievement looking for Volunteers: Fall, 2015

Junior Achievement looking for Volunteers: Fall, 2015

As we ran through summer it’s hard to believe that October is almost done!  With that comes a brand new Program Year for us here at Junior Achievement, and this year we need YOUR help in delivering our programs.  It’s easy and a lot of fun!  What better way to help out in the community than by delivering a JA Program and making a difference in the future of our youth.

Great news for this year!  We have completely refreshed Grade 5, 7 and 8 programs and can’t wait to get them in to the schools.  Once our old programs kits are gone, we will be bringing in these all-new refreshed programs that are enhanced with the blended learning model and include digital activities.  We are excited, the schools are excited, and we hope you are too!  But don’t worry, we will train you on all of the new items so there is no reason to hesitate in volunteering.

Volunteering to deliver a program requires only a short time commitment.  J  Come on your own or build a team in your workplace!  Each year, companies in Chatham, Sarnia and Windsor build teams of volunteers and work toward receiving the Top Corporate Volunteer Team Award at our year-end Volunteer Recognition Event.  Will your company win this year?  Special congratulations to TD Bank who won this award AGAIN last year throughout our 3 cities.  AMAZING!

Every JA SWO volunteer makes a great impact on the community.  Below are the programs that we need volunteers for.  See the attached descriptions for more information.

How to Register as a Volunteer

Email us back at info@jaswont.org OR Register online at www.jaswont.org/volunteer.

These programs (with the exception of Company Program) all take place in schools during school and work hours and we arrange these programs for you according to your work schedule!  You too can make a difference in our community by helping us teach youth the necessary skills needed to build successful career, be financially literate and work ready.  We provide all materials and conduct a training session for you before you go in to the classroom.  If there is a group that would like to have a training session together, we bring all of our materials to your workplace and train you there.  We arrange this type of training session at a time that is convenient for you and your colleagues!

Each NEW volunteer will require a police check as mandated by our organization in connection with our school boards.  We are sure that you will not only have a fantastic time teaching these programs, but find the experience valuable and worthwhile.  Volunteers gain confidence in teaching groups of people and develop transferable skills that help in your everyday work.  Pick one program, pick 2, or even pick 3!  The choice is yours!

We challenge you to help us make a difference and reach over 4000 kids this year with our programs!  Join us as a JA SWO volunteer today!

If your company is interested in becoming a sponsor of these programs, please feel free to email me for more information. We currently have a higher demand for our programs than we do sponsors and need your help!

Thank you for considering JA SWO for your next volunteer experience!
