RetroFest ™ 2014
Join us for the 12th annual RetroFest ™ celebration, May 23 and 24 in the “Classic Car Capitol of Canada,” Chatham, Ontario. In what is sure to be another great year for Retrofest ™ events. There will be hundreds of collector cars gather on the streets of Chatham’s historic downtown core. Joining the selection of exceptional automobiles, will be a number of fun activities including the OLG Classic Car Cruise, free movie in Tecumseh Park, music, hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), and a host of other nostalgic fun for the entire family!

Smith & Wilson Estate Wines, and then be the lead car in the Retrofest Cruise on May 23rd, 2014.

Prior to the big weekend we are having a Contest for Miss RetroFest. It is an on-line Photo Contest where the winner will receive a star VIP treatment at RetroFest, prizes and retro-makeover and photoshoot with Sara Burnie Photography.
A submitted photo of yourself dressed in retro (50′s and 60′s) to Jaclyn@downtownchathamcentre.ca to enter. (No overtly sexual photos will be accepted)
Voting will start April 1st by going on-line @Facebook.com/DowntownChathamCentre under Miss RetroFest tab.
Friday Evening, May 23
OLG Classic Car Cruise
Starting at the John D. Bradley Convention Center, 565 Richmond Street, at 7:00 p.m., participants will cruise along the Thames River entering downtown Chatham around 7:30 p.m.
Once you are done cruising around King Street, you can park and enjoy the music and visit the local restaurants and bars. Or you can get tickets head at for ROCK N ROAR for Sophia event at the St. Clair College Capitol Theatre which will feature the bands: Walkin ’47; Face For Radio; Brooklyn Roebuck and Superfly. Movie in the Park
Join us in Tecumseh Park at dusk for a movie experience the whole family can enjoy!

Kent Historic Auto Club Annual Car Show
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of King Street and Fifth Street. Participation plaques will be given to the first 500 people to register. Please note the show is limited to classic cars, 1989 and older.
Vendors will be setting up in Tecumseh park with lots of food, crafts and candy. There will be a Hot Air Balloon ride set up again this year (weather permitting). To give us a better chance of the balloon to rise, we will be doing it very early in the morning for the early birds. Balloon availability has not been confirmed as of yet but we are hoping to have it.
There will be Junior Judges again this year sponsored by Hagerty. They will teach the kids what to look for and how to grade. The Junior Judges will give their own plaque to what they think deserves their award.
We will be having a Soap Box Derby for the kids on William Street. The Optimist Club of Chatham has agreed to assist us with this event which will be very exciting to see with the flatbed trailer as a ramp. There will be prizes handed out but you must have your own soap box car to enter. Registration information will be posted.
We will have a local group of Burlesque dancers. This is a clean show and they will be able to teach you how to do the art of Burlesque dancing. Location and times to be determined.
We will have the face painter for the kids and we will have hair streakers for everyone. Ever wanted to cover the grey with COLOUR? Here will be your chance.
Saturday night you can get tickets to celebrate the Beatles 50th anniversary to North America, we have been lucky enough to get the number
one McCartney/Beatles and Wings cover band in North America. The group is called the McCartney Years, and I am excited to have them come to our area during the Chatham RetroFest weekend.
